L3Harris is hiring a Senior Specialist, Software Engineering in Salt Lake City, Utah, to architect and develop mission-critical system software for defense applications. The role focuses on embedded real-time software using VxWorks or Linux, cross-functional system design, the full software development life cycle, testing, documentation, peer reviews, and defect repair. The schedule is 9/80, with employees working 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours and having every other Friday off. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least two years of related experience, or eight years of experience in lieu of a degree; preferred skills include C++, high-performance and multithreaded programming, embedded RTOS development, and familiarity with networking and defense-related protocols.
