Michigan State University’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science is hiring a fixed-term Teaching Specialist in Chemical Engineering for East Lansing. The full-time, nine-month academic-year appointment begins with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026, and is initially for one year with possible renewal. The role focuses on undergraduate teaching, laboratory instruction, and service, including lecture and laboratory courses, laboratory operations, and experiential learning. Applicants need a master’s degree in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, or a closely related field, at least three years of relevant industrial or laboratory experience, and demonstrated undergraduate teaching ability; a PhD and higher-education teaching experience are desired.
