The Lansing School District is hiring a Specialized Assistant to support students with disabilities in an assigned school building. The role involves building relationships with students and families, supporting teachers during lessons, ensuring student safety, prioritizing assigned tasks, and responding to emergent situations. Applicants must have an associate's degree, 60 completed college credits, or proof of passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam; experience with small-group and RTI settings, IEP understanding, and a desire to become a certified teacher are preferred. The position is 0.875 FTE, or 7 hours per day, and requires physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
