Description
The Pharmacy Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate third-party and patient billing, claim submission, authorization and prior-authorization processing, chargeback resolution, prescription-exception handling, patient financial-assistance enrollment, and communication with patients, providers, and payers. The role also coaches pharmacy technicians and other support staff on external billing practices. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, a pharmacy technician license where required, PTCB or ExCPT certification, and experience with customer service and communication; six months of retail experience and prior Walgreens experience are preferred. The role pays $22–$29 per hour.
