The Specimen Technician works in a production laboratory environment in Gaithersburg, Maryland, handling specimen processing, test-ordering compliance, data entry, and customer-related demands. The role requires flexibility, safety and compliance adherence, strong communication, and the ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while laboratory, medical, and hospital laboratory experience are preferred. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with a rotating Sunday, and includes on-call, overtime, and weekend availability as needed.
