HSBC is hiring a Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering (Group AI Platform SME) to own difficult engineering problems across core AI platform domains, including AI gateways, security guardrails, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic platform services. The role focuses on designing and implementing production-grade Go services, making technical decisions around architecture and reliability, improving engineering quality through code review and testing, and mentoring peers. Candidates should have experience with enterprise gateway or API platforms, AI security controls, RAG architectures, agentic systems, Go or Python, Kubernetes, and cloud-native production systems, along with a track record of improving engineering organizations.
