USA TODAY Co. is hiring a Database Engineer to design, build, and operate production database systems for LOCALiQ across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery on Google Cloud Platform. The role partners with software, data, and application teams to maintain performance, availability, security, backups, recovery, replication, capacity, and schema design, while automating operations through scripting, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD. It requires at least three years of database engineering or administration experience, cloud production experience, strong SQL and programming skills, and a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience. The position is remote and offers an annualized base salary of $144,000 to $154,000.
