The Sr. Engineer 2 (Java Backend) is a 12+ month contract role in Fort Worth, Texas, with a three-day hybrid onsite schedule on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable, reliable Java backend systems, conducting root-cause analysis, managing technical debt, improving delivery practices, and mentoring junior engineers. It requires 7–9 years of software development experience, including 5+ years of Java, 3+ years each with Kafka and MongoDB, and multi-cloud exposure with Azure or IBM Cloud. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics, engineering, or a related field is required, along with experience in object-oriented design, UML, test-driven development, Java design patterns, enterprise integration, disaster recovery, and Agile or Scrum methodologies.
