Description

Apple is hiring an ML Platform Engineer to design and develop secure, scalable back-end systems for its Ads machine learning platform. The role partners with ML engineers and scientists to build platform capabilities that support scalable modeling, continuous experimentation, feature stores, embedding management, production data pipelines, batch and streaming deployments, workflow orchestration, and modern storage formats. The engineer will also contribute to machine learning product development while maintaining Apple’s privacy commitments.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: PhD, MS, or BS in Computer Science or a related field, with the corresponding years of engineering and machine learning experience specified.
Required Previous Experiences: Writing mission-critical code for production machine learning systems
Building ML infrastructure, frameworks, or services used by multiple teams
Building or operating feature stores or comparable ML data infrastructure serving production models
Embedding management, including generation, versioning, refresh, retirement, and retrieval
Building and deploying models across the machine learning lifecycle
Model evaluation, train-serve skew, and data drift
Deep learning architectures and PyTorch or TensorFlow
Applying machine learning at scale in advertising, recommender systems, information retrieval, or related domains
Training data generation across text, image, and structured data
Building production data pipelines for ML systems using distributed processing
Building ML systems with batch and streaming deployments, workflow orchestration, and modern storage formats
Data modeling and data architecture
Problem solving, debugging, performance tuning, automation, tooling, and CI/CD
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the advertising industry
LLM-based data generation or evaluation
Large-scale distributed training and data infrastructure
Privacy-preserving machine learning
Agentic AI
