Description
Portal Space Systems is hiring a Senior Mechanisms Engineer to own the full lifecycle of mission-critical spacecraft mechanisms, from requirements and concept through design, manufacturing, integration, verification, qualification, and flight support. The role involves designing deploy, release, position, align, restrain, and separate systems; performing kinematic, dynamic, structural, and tolerance analyses; creating detailed drawings and test documentation; supporting integration and mission operations; and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates need at least five years of experience designing mechanisms or complex mechanical systems for aerospace hardware, along with experience in launch and space environments and engineering analysis. The position may involve ITAR-controlled materials and requires U.S. person eligibility.
