Description

Amazon Leo is hiring a Senior Satellite RF Test Systems Development Engineer to own the full lifecycle of complex RF test systems for spacecraft avionics and payload subsystems. The role covers test architecture, hardware and fixture design, test automation, production integration, validation and qualification testing, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Candidates need extensive aerospace and RF test-system experience, programming experience, RF measurement equipment knowledge, and a relevant bachelor's degree. The position is based in San Diego, California, or Redmond, Washington, with a base salary of 137,300 to 185,700 USD annually.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems and components
At least 3 years of development, programming, or scripting experience with Python, Java, Bash, or Perl
Experience with RF measurement equipment, including power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes
At least 5 years of experience developing and executing test plans for complex aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics systems
At least 5 years of experience designing and integrating test systems for hardware and PCBA validation
Experience working across multiple technical disciplines in a production or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent field
Experience gathering test requirements, creating detailed test plans, and defining quality metrics
Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations
Cross-functional product development experience from concept through production
At least 10 years of hands-on experience with RF subsystems, PCBAs, or high-speed signal characterization
Ability to bridge engineering disciplines with data-driven process improvements
Experience with PCB/CCA design, schematic capture, DFT/DFM principles, hardware validation, and configuration control
Experience with test automation frameworks and modern development practices
Track record delivering design reviews and performance data packages to internal and external stakeholders
