PayPal is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Cloud Network & Routing team at Venmo. The role designs, builds, and operates AWS network and routing infrastructure, including VPCs, transit gateways, load balancers, CloudFront, WAF, Envoy, Contour, NGINX, and service mesh. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting network incidents, developing Terraform infrastructure-as-code, participating in on-call rotation, and documenting operational practices. The position requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years of hands-on cloud networking experience, along with experience in CDN, WAF, service mesh, reverse proxy, networking fundamentals, scripting, containers, and Kubernetes. The role offers a balanced hybrid model and is available in San Jose, California; Austin, Texas; and Scottsdale, Arizona.
