Microsoft Defender is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer to build and improve scalable, highly reliable cloud services and engineering systems, automate service-scale features, investigate and deploy production fixes, and participate in an on-call rotation. The role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least four years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, plus U.S. government Top Secret clearance with SCI access. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, additional experience, CI/CD and Git knowledge, containerization exposure, and experience supporting large-scale production services. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 119,800–234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
