Microsoft is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer for its Microsoft 365 Substrate First Mile Networking team to design and implement scalable networking solutions for Substrate and COSMIC platforms, optimize first-mile connectivity, analyze production telemetry, and improve availability, reliability, observability, and performance at massive scale. The role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least four years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, plus an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship verification. Preferred qualifications include networking, cloud, microservices, and container networking expertise. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 119,800–234,700 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
