eBay is hiring a Systems Engineer to build and operate scalable distributed services for cloud security, including network segmentation, Kubernetes controllers, control-plane services, workload identity, and secure service-to-service communication. The role requires strong backend and distributed-systems experience, expertise in Go, Java, Python, or C++, hands-on Kubernetes and cloud-networking experience, and the ability to lead troubleshooting, technical leadership, and AI-assisted engineering improvements. Preferred qualifications include eBPF, service mesh, zero-trust security, identity technologies, observability tools, event-driven architectures, and multi-cluster Kubernetes.
