Description

ALSO is hiring a Sr. Staff Validation & Tools Engineer focused on embedded firmware and software validation. The role owns the validation strategy, tooling architecture, and system-level quality approach across firmware, software, connectivity, mobile, cloud-adjacent systems, and HIL environments. Responsibilities include building automated validation frameworks, defining SIL and HIL infrastructure, leading release validation, improving test coverage and traceability, performing root-cause analysis, integrating validation into CI/CD, and mentoring engineers. The position requires a technical degree and 10+ years of software quality engineering and embedded systems testing experience, with expertise in embedded architectures, Python automation, CI/CD, connectivity, and automotive protocols. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of software quality engineering and embedded systems testing experience
Leading validation strategy or test architecture for complex embedded, connected, automotive, mobility, IoT, or software-defined vehicle platforms
Building or scaling automated validation frameworks for firmware, embedded software, system-level testing, or hardware-in-the-loop environments
Testing RTOS-based or Linux-based embedded systems
Validating connectivity, location services, mobile-connected features, or wireless technologies
SIL and HIL validation environments
Embedded and automotive communication protocols
Automotive network analysis or sniffer tools
Leading root-cause analysis across hardware, firmware, software, connectivity, and validation infrastructure
