Smart Working is hiring a Senior PHP/Symfony Engineer for a remote, full-time, long-term backend engineering role focused on a mature Symfony platform managing marketing and revenue data for enterprise customers. The engineer will own backend development, review and challenge code and AI-generated solutions, support the migration from Symfony 6.1 to Symfony 7, improve application performance and scalability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Angular, TypeScript, Python AI services, and DevOps. The role requires extensive commercial PHP and Symfony experience, backend architecture expertise, database and testing knowledge, cloud experience, and the ability to work UK hours.
