Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies Canada is hiring a Staff Android OS Engineer for its Infotainment team to develop, maintain, and customize core Android Automotive OS components. The role owns the software development lifecycle, leads design and code reviews, implements hardware abstraction layers, optimizes boot time, memory, stability, and system performance, and integrates features involving inter-ECU communication, IPC, memory management, security sandboxing, networking, and power management. Candidates need a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 8 years of Android platform development experience, and expertise in C or C++ and Java or Kotlin, AOSP, embedded Android debugging, and embedded Linux.
