Description
Garner Health is hiring a Staff Applied Scientist for its Applied Science team in New York City. The player-coach role owns end-to-end production algorithmic systems for healthcare, including problem framing, objective functions, metrics, machine learning, optimization, heuristics, expert systems, validation, deployment, and improvement against real-world outcomes. The scientist will lead a small team, set technical direction, review applied science work across the company, and work on provider tiering optimization, an LLM-based primary care experience, and member engagement modeling. The role requires 6+ years of industry experience, or 4+ years with a relevant advanced degree, and offers a hybrid schedule of three office days per week. Base compensation is $300,000-$390,000 plus equity and benefits.
