Description

Fora Financial is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to own the platform backbone for governed reporting and trusted AI workflows. The role combines strategic architecture decisions across ingestion, Snowflake, orchestration, data contracts, SLAs, and reliability with hands-on work building, hardening, and debugging pipelines. The engineer will partner with Analytics, Engineering, and vendors, migrate legacy reporting systems, and use AI and automation to improve platform operations. The position is fully remote within the United States, reports to the VP of Data & AI, and offers a base salary of $175,000–$200,000 plus medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefits.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience designing, building, and operating production data platforms
Preferred Qualifications: Lending, fintech, or financial-services data experience
Experience with CDC, Debezium, Fivetran, Airbyte, Azure Data Factory, dbt Cloud, Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect
Snowflake performance tuning, RBAC, data sharing, warehouse cost optimization, or Iceberg
Data observability with Monte Carlo, Elementary, dbt tests, custom monitors, or similar
Data contracts, source SLAs, or schema-change processes with Engineering teams
AI-native analytics, semantic layers, MCP servers, agent QA, or governed context retrieval
Lightweight internal tools, scripts, or agents that reduce repetitive platform work
