Description

Minerva is hiring a Staff Data Engineer to own the technical architecture and reliability of its multi-tenant data platform. The role focuses on tenant onboarding, golden-record contracts, multi-tenant isolation and access, ontology evolution, data quality and observability, and systems that expose data to AI agents through MCP, vector search, and semantic layers. It also covers real-time warehouse synchronization, CDP infrastructure, and the governance of pipelines as the platform scales. The position requires 5+ years of data or software engineering experience, strong Python and SQL, transformation and orchestration expertise, and onsite work in New York City.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of data or software engineering experience in a data-heavy context with ownership of a production data platform at scale
Experience designing multi-tenant systems with isolation, governance, and secure access patterns
Experience evolving schemas, data models, or ontologies in production with versioning, migration, and backward compatibility
Experience or interest in exposing data to AI agents through MCP, vector search, semantic layers, or retrieval
Preferred Qualifications: Lakehouse or Spark experience with large datasets
Experience building or operating a CDP, identity graph, or reverse-ETL/activation system
Strong communication skills and enterprise customer experience
Experience with data lineage, reactive propagation, and streaming technologies
Backend or machine learning/AI engineering exposure
Experience using AI coding tools
Experience building infrastructure for agentic or LLM workflows
Prior early-stage startup experience
