Root is hiring a Staff Data Engineer for its Data Platform team to lead financial data operations, including commissions payments, incentive programs, and other backend financial systems. The role focuses on improving data pipeline accuracy, scalability, reliability, onboarding, partner integration, experimentation cycles, and analytics infrastructure while partnering with Finance, Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering stakeholders. The position requires 8+ years of data or software engineering experience, proficiency in Python, SQL, Redshift, Spark, Apache Iceberg, Terraform, Airflow, and dbt, and leadership across multiple functional teams. It is a remote role across the United States with a salary range of $168,600 to $215,000 plus competitive bonus and equity.
