Description

Airwallex is hiring a Staff Data Platform Architect in Singapore to oversee the strategy, architecture, development, and operation of its data and AI platforms. The role includes leading company-wide initiatives, solving complex technical problems, establishing data-platform best practices, mentoring engineers and scientists, and providing technical leadership across ETL, metrics stores, infrastructure, data security, and scalable multi-geographical pipelines. The position requires at least eight years of data-platform or equivalent quantitative experience, along with experience leading cross-team initiatives and significant technical projects.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 8 years of data-platform experience or equivalent quantitative work and academic exposure
Experience leading company-wide initiatives across multiple teams or influencing technology roadmap planning
Technical leadership on significant projects involving ETL frameworks, metrics stores, infrastructure management, and data security
Building, deploying, and maintaining reliable multi-geographical data pipelines at scale
Mentoring scientists, engineers, and peers
Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on design experience with modern Lakehouse architecture
Experience designing big-data framework modules, services, and client libraries using GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, Kafka, Kubernetes, Spark, DataFlow, and Airflow
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
Ability to evaluate technologies and conduct proof of concepts for architecture design
