Airwallex is hiring a Staff Data Scientist to lead the technical strategy for its Payments Optimization team. The role focuses on designing and deploying advanced algorithms, contextual bandits, A/B testing, causal inference, and other optimization techniques to improve payment conversion, fraud risk, transaction costs, and product adoption. The individual contributor will partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Commercial teams, build production ML systems, communicate complex insights, and mentor junior data scientists and engineers. The position requires an advanced degree in a quantitative field, at least five years of data science or applied machine learning experience, and proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
