fomo is hiring a Staff Distributed Systems Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and performance of its multi-region backend platform. The role focuses on shared infrastructure, datastores, caches, messaging systems, regional application services, failover, disaster recovery, observability, and high-throughput service design. It requires extensive backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, strong PostgreSQL and Redis-compatible systems expertise, AWS experience, infrastructure as code, and proficiency in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or a comparable systems-oriented language.
