IonQ is hiring a Staff Distributed Systems Engineer to build and operate backend services for its Network and Security Platform. The role owns high-throughput telemetry ingestion, time-series storage, event streaming, RESTful and gRPC APIs, service reliability, observability, and cloud-native deployment across AWS, GCP, and Azure. The engineer will work closely with the Principal Architect, lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions. The position is onsite in Santa Clara, California, with up to 15% domestic or international travel, and offers a base salary of $187,944 to $246,068 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
