Beam is hiring a Staff Engineer to join its product teams and help build AI-powered systems serving public services globally. The role involves driving technical direction, scaling infrastructure, backend, frontend, and data systems, innovating on AI use, releasing products to over 100,000 users, and owning departmental technical direction. Candidates should have broad experience across infrastructure, backend, frontend, and data, proven experience evolving systems for scale, a product mindset, and interest in AI. The technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, GCP, React, and shadcn. Compensation is £130,000–£160,000 base salary plus equity and benefits.
