The role connects technical decisions to customer and commercial outcomes, balances reliability, security, performance, cost, and technical debt, and uses AI coding tools and LLM-powered applications in production. It requires extensive production systems experience, staff-level technical leadership, strong architectural judgement, cross-functional influence, and hands-on experience with AI-enabled engineering workflows.
