Zip is hiring a Staff Engineer to own the architecture and evolution of its real-time money movement and payments platform, lead cross-team technical direction, and embed AI into engineering workflows and product capabilities. The role is remote-first for US-based engineers with optional collaboration from the NYC office and requires 12+ years of distributed backend systems experience, strong payments or fintech systems expertise, hands-on engineering leadership, and experience with cloud platforms and backend technologies. The annual base pay range is $190,000-$220,000, and visa sponsorship is not available.
