Description

Shield AI is hiring a Senior Software Test & Automation Engineer to design and maintain automated test frameworks, validation tooling, and infrastructure for autonomy software. The role covers verification and validation across simulation, SIL, HIL, and VIL environments; Python-based automation; regression, integration, functional, and performance testing; defect analysis; quality metrics; and CI/CD integration. The position requires a relevant bachelor's degree, 4–7 years of experience in software testing, verification, automation, or validation for complex distributed systems, and strong Python, Linux, and systems-integration experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 4–7 years developing software test, verification, automation, or validation solutions for robotics, autonomy, aerospace, or other complex distributed systems
Experience developing automated test frameworks, test harnesses, or validation infrastructure
Experience with Linux-based development environments
Experience validating software in simulation, SIL, HIL, and/or representative hardware environments
Experience debugging complex software and system integration issues
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous validation practices
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with flight control systems such as ArduPilot or PX4
Experience with unmanned aerial systems, including fixed-wing or quadrotor platforms
Background in autonomy, robotics, or aerospace systems
