Scale AI is hiring a Staff Frontier Agent Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineering) to architect, integrate, deploy, and operate production AI systems for strategic enterprise customers. The role combines software engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, agent architectures, AI platform engineering, quality and observability, and customer technical leadership. Candidates need at least 8 years of software engineering experience, strong Python skills, and experience with LLM APIs, agent frameworks, cloud platforms, and production infrastructure. The position offers a base salary of $252,000–$315,000 USD for eligible locations, along with equity, health, dental, vision, retirement, learning, and paid-time-off benefits.
