Description

Carbon is hiring a Staff Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to own and improve its multi-cloud AWS and GCP platform, including networking, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, Jenkins and GitHub Actions CI/CD, reliability, security, and technical leadership. The role requires at least seven years of production cloud infrastructure experience, strong expertise in Terraform and Kubernetes, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent practical experience. The position is onsite in the Sunnyvale or Santa Clara, California office, with a stated annual compensation range of $209,600 to $314,400.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: At least seven years of experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure
Expert-level Terraform experience, including module design, state management, and large-scale migrations
Hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Production Kubernetes cluster experience at scale
Production service mesh experience, ideally with Istio
Preferred Qualifications: Experience connecting cloud services to physical devices or edge hardware
Familiarity with Bazel or another polyglot monorepo build system
Experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security and compliance controls
Experience running or contributing to a platform team used by other engineers
