Coupang is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to own and evolve its recommendation systems, including ranking, retrieval, and relevance models. The role covers the full lifecycle from data mining and feature engineering through model development, experimentation, deployment, and mentoring engineers. It requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least five years of applied AI/ML experience with large-scale datasets, and proficiency in Python and/or Java. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, recommendation or search systems experience, LLM and embedding model experience, cloud platform experience, and online serving-system experience.
