NewsBreak is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to provide technical leadership for recommendation systems and AI initiatives. The role focuses on designing large-scale personalization architectures, managing model lifecycles, leading retrieval, ranking, re-ranking, and multi-objective optimization initiatives, applying LLMs and foundation models, and establishing AI-native engineering practices. Candidates need at least eight years of experience building large-scale machine learning or recommendation systems, with production expertise and cross-team technical leadership. The full-time position offers a US base salary of $230,000 to $300,000 annually, plus health, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, parental leave, and other benefits.
