Okta is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for its Agent Access Policies sub-team within the Okta Secures AI organization. The role will architect and build authorization and identity-security features for AI agents, including intent-based enforcement, LLM reasoning, prompt parsing, low-latency inference, semantic evaluation, policy frameworks, guardrails, and automated evaluation pipelines. Candidates need 8+ years of software development experience, applied machine learning and generative AI expertise, familiarity with agent frameworks and ML infrastructure, and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field. The position is hybrid and offers an annual base salary of CAD 168,000–231,000 for candidates located in Canada, plus equity, bonus, and benefits.
