Description
Intuitive Surgical is hiring a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, sourcing, development, and integration of novel mechanical and mechatronic concepts for surgical instruments and accessories used with the da Vinci robotic surgical system. The role covers requirements development, conceptual and detailed design, analytical modeling, prototyping, troubleshooting, verification and validation testing, clinical evaluation support, supplier management, patent documentation, and design transfer to new product development. Candidates must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least 12 years of experience taking products from concept to production, with medical product experience preferred; the role also requires strong mechanical design, CAD, prototyping, supplier, and problem-solving capabilities.
