Description
Intuitive Surgical is hiring a Staff Mechanical Engineer to design and develop robotic surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgical applications. The role covers component procurement, prototype assembly, testing fixtures, product requirements, mechanical design documentation, CAD databases, risk and regulatory assessments, clinical workflow analysis, and patent submissions. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and at least 12 years of experience taking products from concept to production, with 8 years of experience with an MS or 5 years with a PhD; medical product experience is preferred. The position requires strong mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, reliability, manufacturability, and analytical problem-solving skills.
