Description
Knightscope is hiring a Staff Autonomy Engineer to own the intelligence layer of embodied autonomous robots, from sensor observations through reasoning, world-state modeling, policy decisions, and safe robot behavior. The role will advance computer vision, learned planning, open-world generalization, real-time decision making, and large vision-language-action models; build a closed-loop learning pipeline; and drive architecture decisions while mentoring engineers. It requires 7+ years of production autonomy, planning, or decision-making systems experience, strong C++ and Python software engineering, and a track record of moving systems from research prototype to deployed production platforms. The position is full-time, on-site at Knightscope’s Sunnyvale headquarters, with a base salary of $240,000 to $275,000, stock options, and medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off benefits.
