Description

FutureFit AI is hiring a Staff ML Platform Engineer (MLOps) to build and operate the end-to-end platform supporting its growing machine-learning and LLM products. The role owns compute and environment management, model deployment and monitoring, LLM routing and evaluation, safe experimentation, observability, traceability, and data and feature infrastructure. It is a hands-on, operational role with production incident ownership and shared-team standards, requiring strong MLOps, LLM, systems design, and data engineering experience. The position is remote in California or the United States, with Toronto-based candidates able to work from the company office, and offers USD $172,000-$215,000 or CAD $172,000-$220,000.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Staff-level hands-on experience in MLOps, ML platform, or ML infrastructure
End-to-end MLOps practice experience, including CI/CD, experiment tracking, model registries, deployment workflows, and monitoring
Production experience with LLM-based systems, including serving, evaluation, routing, and cost and latency management
Experience operating models in batch and real-time serving contexts
Hands-on experience with compute provisioning and environment management
Experience running controlled model experiments in production, including A/B tests, shadow or canary deploys, and holdouts
Experience with production ML observability and traceability, including drift detection, alerting, lineage, and prediction reproduction
Hands-on operational experience debugging and fixing production ML incidents
Experience with data engineering, pipelines, feature computation and storage, and consistent training and serving features
Experience diagnosing and materially improving complex, fast-growing systems
Strong systems design ability
Preferred Qualifications: Interest in model development
Feature store experience
Experience evaluating AI/ML observability or LLM evaluation vendors
Background in mission-driven, workforce, or government-adjacent data environments
Comfort mentoring a small data and engineering team
