Description

Harvey is hiring a Staff or Senior Staff Software Engineer on its Product Engineering team to own and lead cross-team engineering projects across web, mobile, embedded, API, and agentic AI systems. The role focuses on building secure, scalable SaaS products and AI-native capabilities, including retrieval, ingestion, tool calling, memory, context management, and evaluation systems, while using React, TypeScript, Python, and Postgres. The position can be based in New York City or San Francisco with a hybrid schedule of three office days per week and offers $231,000–$340,000 USD in compensation.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field
Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years of experience in a product-focused software engineering role at Staff level or above
Experience building scalable, extensible systems supporting multiple product lines
Experience shipping intuitive products in fast-growing SaaS companies
Experience building and shipping agentic systems with Python, including agent harnesses, tool use, memory, and evaluation systems
Experience influencing and aligning engineers and leaders outside the direct reporting scope
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working at early-stage startups
