Description

GitLab is hiring a Staff Product Security Architect to join its Security Platforms and Architecture organization. The role focuses on hands-on security architecture for strategic product initiatives, including risk assessment, threat modeling, security standards and patterns, architectural reviews, prototyping, and proactive guidance for engineering and AI coding workflows. The architect will also mentor security engineers and represent security architecture to engineering audiences. The position is remote, with a United States base salary range of $168,000 to $238,000 USD.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Experience securing distributed systems, including service-to-service authentication, secrets handling, and cross-process security failure modes

Track record of proactive architecture work identifying risk before incidents and designing preventive controls
Experience defining security standards or patterns adopted by engineering teams without coercion
Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on, including reading unfamiliar code, building prototypes, and contributing changes
