Description

tem is hiring a Staff QA Automation Engineer to shape quality engineering across its Platform team. The role will design and scale test automation frameworks, CI testing standards, unit, integration, and contract testing, canary-release pass/fail analysis, and AI-driven change-risk classification, mutation testing, and self-healing checks. It is a specialist individual-contributor role reporting to Bartek Kucharski, with a current band of £104,000 or equivalent in local currency, remote-first flexible working, and stock options.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Architecting and maintaining test automation frameworks and tooling across a wider engineering organisation
Testing microservice or distributed systems, API-level automation, CI/CD integration, and service-level testing strategies
Leading innovation and PoCs in testing, especially AI-led regression optimisation and change-risk analysis
Contract testing or consumer/provider verification using Pact, OpenAPI schema validation, or similar
AWS infrastructure experience with Lambda, GitHub Actions self-hosted runners, and deployment tooling
Preferred Qualifications: Progressive deployment experience with canary releases, feature flags, and automated rollback from production signals
Mutation testing using traditional tooling or LLM-based approaches
Test-data management and environment-isolation strategy in shared environments
Experience in a regulated or high-stakes domain such as energy, fintech, or payments
