Dolby is hiring a Video Codec Research Scientist to research and develop advanced video compression and processing technologies. The role involves creating conceptual models, developing algorithms and proof-of-concept prototypes, evaluating end-to-end system performance, contributing to standards and publications, and representing company interests in industry and international standards bodies. Candidates need a master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline, 3–5 years of experience in video compression or learning-based visual computing, strong programming and deep-learning experience, and a research record in video coding. The position is based in the San Francisco/Bay Area with up to four days per week in the office and an annual base salary of $191,000–$234,200 plus bonus, benefits, profit-sharing, and equity.
