Sequen AI is hiring a Senior Staff Systems Engineer, Rust Engineering to design, build, and optimize production-grade Rust systems for its frontier ranking and recommendation APIs. The role focuses on ultra-low-latency model serving, real-time data ingestion, high-throughput backend APIs and SDKs, distributed-system reliability, performance benchmarking, and translating neural-network and ranking-model advances into scalable runtime systems. Candidates need 6 to 8+ years of software or systems engineering experience, strong production Rust expertise, and experience with backend systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, and high-throughput production environments.

Additional Information

Experience debugging, profiling, and operating high-throughput production systems under strict real-world constraints
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes
Experience with machine learning inference optimization, vector search databases, or large-scale data pipelines
Background in early-stage startups or fast-moving, high-growth technical environments
