The University of Chicago’s Institute for Population and Precision Health is hiring a Staff Scientist in the BSD IPP - Machine Learning department to conduct original research on immune-microbe interactions using computational and machine learning approaches. The role sits at the intersection of immunology and AI, involves close collaboration with computational and experimental teams, and includes responsibilities such as developing methods, analyzing microbiome/protein data, supporting scientific writing, and promoting open science. The position requires a PhD in a related field and 5–7 years of relevant experience, with preferred experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, microbiome or protein science, and Python/HPC environments. This is a salary, exempt, 40-hour role with pay range $80,000–$100,000 and benefits eligibility at the University of Chicago.
