Southern Methodist University (SMU) is hiring a Staff Scientist for its O'Donnell Data Science and Research Computing Institute in Dallas, Texas. The role is an on-campus, in-person position focused on supporting research in data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and high-performance computing, while also helping with proposal development, external funding opportunities, student project design and mentorship, and organizing events, training, and workshops. The position requires a doctoral degree, at least two years of research experience in data science and AI/ML, strong communication and organizational skills, and knowledge of HPC software stacks and parallel computing.
