Description
Alarm.com is hiring a Staff Security Engineer to identify, research, communicate, and help mitigate security risks across its IoT device ecosystem. The role centers on offensive security, IoT penetration testing, firmware extraction and analysis, reverse engineering, vulnerability discovery, threat modeling, security testing, remediation, and security-policy documentation. It requires 10+ years of information security experience, embedded or firmware security expertise, familiarity with hardware debugging equipment and protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, and JTAG, embedded Linux and ARM architectures, and tools including IDA Pro, Ghidra, or Binary Ninja. The position is primarily office-based, with employees working from the office four days per week, and offers a base salary of $167,500–$180,500 USD plus benefits.
