Description

Snowflake is hiring a fully remote Staff Security Engineer, Threat Detection for its Security team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and evolving AI-assisted detections and pipelines, improving coverage and detection quality, developing security automations, and partnering with Security and Engineering stakeholders. Candidates should have at least 8 years of security engineering experience, strong Python or Go coding ability, experience with SQL and large-scale logs or telemetry, production software development, agent-based workflows, and a major cloud provider. The role is open to candidates across the United States.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of security engineering experience in threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, product security, or corporate security, or equivalent experience
Experience handling data programmatically with SQL and Python, including large-scale log and telemetry datasets
Experience writing production code, unit tests, version control, and CI/CD integration
Experience developing and operating agent-based or agentic workflows
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider and its logging, monitoring, and security services
Preferred Qualifications: Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience applying GenAI and LLM-based approaches to security workflows
Experience with infrastructure as code and detections-as-code frameworks
Experience building production software or platforms processing high-volume data streams
Experience deploying detections at global scale
Experience with Snowflake or equivalent cloud data platforms and security analytics
