Google is hiring a Staff Site Reliability Developer in Waterloo to serve as a technical anchor for the Protected Data SRE team. The role focuses on reducing system complexity, improving reliability and change safety, designing distributed observability and control-plane capabilities, managing systemic risk, and providing technical leadership and mentorship across infrastructure stacks. The posting requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, five years of relevant experience, three years of Unix/Linux and networking experience, and programming experience in C, C++, Java, Python, or Go. Compensation is CAD 216,000–221,000 plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
