Valence is hiring a founding Applied AI Engineer to help define and build AI-powered leadership coaching systems. The role involves architecting enterprise AI and conversational systems, developing and evaluating LLM components, integrating structured and unstructured data, prototyping backend services and data pipelines, and building deployment, observability, and automation tooling. Candidates should have at least 8 years of software engineering, AI/ML, or data-intensive systems experience, along with cloud, containerization, data analysis, and software engineering skills. The role is hybrid for candidates based in New York City or Toronto and otherwise remote, with medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
